General Counsel
Nathan Dorius was born and raised in California and the Middle East. In 2000, he moved to Utah to begin his legal career. Mr. Dorius has practiced extensively in banking and finance, real property, and corporate governance. Mr. Dorius also has experience in commercial litigation and bankruptcy where he has represented many creditors. In his banking and finance practice, Mr. Dorius has represented local, regional and large national financial institutions, private lending groups, venture capital firms, and land developers, assisting his clients with underwriting issues, loan document negotiation and preparation, collateralization, private placements, loan closings, and litigation to enforce loan documents. Mr. Dorius served as inhouse legal counsel to Zions Bancorporation, where he worked on bank credit facilities, managed the Bankruptcy Department for Zions and its affiliate banks in the Western United States, and sat on the bank’s real property committee. Mr. Dorius was previously licensed as a title and escrow officer and developed extensive experience in working through title issues on real estate transactions.
Mr. Dorius has served on a number in leadership positions in a number of professional organizations. These include as Chair of the Utah State Bar’s Banking & Finance Section and membership in the Utah Bankruptcy Forum. Mr Dorius has also been named in Utah Business Magazine’s Legal Elite in the area of Banking & Finance and in the Mountain States Super Lawyers.
Mr. Dorius resides in Utah with his wife who is a practicing therapist. Mr. Dorius enjoys traveling, scuba diving, hiking, biking, and pickleball.
